Camera terms and Settings

What is the view finder and what is it for? close up pictures and its used to take close up pictures .

Define these terms: ISO, Aperature (f-stop), Shutter speed shutter speed is the speed the photo is taken at . like if theres a high shutter speed you can capture fast move objects the low shutter speeds capture things that don't move very fast.

When and why would you use a manual setting? you have full control over color , flash and other advanced settings . user controls both shutter speed and f stop .

What setting would you use if you wanted video? movie and automatic depth of field .

The Falling Man

this photo of 9/11 falling man makes me sad . even though i wasn't old enough to understand what really happened i still feel bad . i wonder why it was posted on the newspaper . like if that was my family member i wouldn't want the while world seeing my loved one in the lowest points of their life , you feel me ? i feel sad for the persons family members because that was a tragedy . i feel for the person because they must have felt like there was no way out , and they rather die on his own terms them to let the people that crash the plane choose his fate for hime you know ? this photo is depressing and it pulls your emotions into different directions , thats war makes this photo iconic .

MyIconicPhoto

Marilyn Monroe is iconic because she represents old hollywood glamour and is famous for her out spoken and rebellious attitude in hollywood . people around the world have made her photos and quotes go iconic .

Fast , Slow , or Medium ?
1. If you were assigned to shoot at Blue and Gold night, which will be next month, what shutter speeds do you think you would have to shoot at the following events that night I would like you to answer the question for the following two situations.

a.) the dunking booth : fast

b.) the food eating contest : fast

c.) the rock climbing wall : medium

d.) someone working at a booth : slow

e.) the DJ/MC working at the middle of the circle : fast

f.) the Diamonds performance. : fast

Towards the end when there is no sun and has gotten dark enough that you can't see from one end of the courtyard to the other.
a.) the dunking booth : medium

b.) the food eating contest : medium

c.) the rock climbing wall : slow

3. With a class camera, what are the shutter speeds available to you on that camera? You will have to turn the camera on to determine this. Hopefully you can figure out what setting to put the camera on to determine the answer to this question.

2. What suggestions did the author make about using a low ISO? when there is plant go light use lower ISO . subjects that are moving at a slower rate of speed .

3. What suggestions did the author make about using a high ISO? when you want to take pictures that are moving at a higher rate of speeds . when theres not enough light change to a higher ISO .

4. At the camera near you, please tell me what ISO's are available on your camera? 100 200 400 800 1600 3200 6400

Big Sheep

the photographer used the element of depth . you can see a lot of depth in this picture . with all the little bushes on the group , the big sheep in the middle , and all the trees and scenery in the background . i suggest that the photographer that took this photo should use a different element to capture this big wild animal . maybe a filling the frame or even a different point of view . maybe the photographer could lay on the ground and take the pictures that way so they are looking up at these big beast . . .

my cvs photo

rule of thirds is so frequently used because rule of thirds is a "rule of thumb" or guideline which applies to the process of composing visual images such asdesignsfilmspaintings, and photographs.[1] The guideline proposes that an image should be imagined as divided into nine equal parts by two equally spaced horizontal lines and two equally spaced vertical lines, and that important compositional elements should be placed along these lines or their intersections .
