Depth Of Field

depth of field is basically how much your in focused on the picture and how much actually is fitting in the photo . its how much distance between objects .you7 have to focus on the subject and everything else isn't that important compared to your subject .

when i first started this class i thought it would be boring and that i wouldn't learn anything . but as this class started to get going it became more fun and I've learned some things that i didn't know before . . . i want to learn to take different kinds of photos and learn more about the cameras . my goal  for the 2nd 6weeks is to get a higher grade and to learn more about taking pictures .

Grading Criteria:

2. The work utilizes the camera in a way that seeks to reveal or discover the nature of the subject at hand by using point-of-view (interesting angles), depth-of-field, shutter speed, etc.

3. The work demonstrates mastery over image composition (clean backgrounds, balance, patterns, etc.).

4. Utilizes light effectively in creating mood or meaning in the photographs.

5. Work contains evidence of inventive conceptual and/or technical problem-solving in support of the artistic concept.

6. Work is free of unintentional technical mistakes in exposure, mergers and other distracting objects in frame.

What is the view finder and what is it for? close up pictures and its used to take close up pictures .

What setting would you set the dial to for video? live view / movie mode .

What setting would you put it on to take photos at a football game? sports mode or shutter-priority autoexposure .

What setting would you use if your friend asked you to take their senior portrait? portrait mode . 

Define these terms: ISO, Aperature (f-stop), Shutter speed shutter speed is the speed the photo is taken at . like if theres a high shutter speed you can capture fast move objects the low shutter speeds capture things that don't move very fast. 

When and why would you use a manual setting? you have full control over color , flash and other advanced settings . user controls both shutter speed and f stop .

What setting would you use if you wanted video? movie and automatic depth of field .

The Falling Man

this photo of 9/11 falling man makes me sad . even though i wasn't old enough to understand what really happened i still feel bad . i wonder why it was posted on the newspaper . like if that was my family member i wouldn't want the while world seeing my loved one in the lowest points of their life , you feel me ? i feel sad for the persons family members because that was a tragedy . i feel for the person because they must have felt like there was no way out , and they rather die on his own terms them to let the people that crash the plane choose his fate for hime you know ? this photo is depressing and it pulls your emotions into different directions , thats war makes this photo iconic .
